Double the Love: A Surprise Beach Proposal x2 in Murrells Inlet, SC

Some love stories are full of surprises—beautiful, emotional, completely unforgettable surprises. Tori and Lorene’s engagement session in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, was exactly that kind of story.

What started as a romantic beach portrait session turned into not one, but two surprise proposals—each one more emotional than the next. This session reminded me why I love what I do: capturing raw, real love in its purest moments.

Meet Tori & Lorene

Tori and Lorene are the kind of couple who immediately make you feel the depth of their connection. Playful, kind, and completely in sync, they brought so much warmth to this beach session. The golden light, the soft waves, and the peaceful charm of Murrells Inlet were the perfect setting for their love to shine.

Tori had reached out to schedule what Lorene thought was just a dreamy couple’s shoot—an opportunity to capture their relationship against the backdrop of one of their favorite coastal spots. But Tori had a plan she kept carefully tucked away.

The First Surprise

As the sun began to set and the sky turned a soft purple tone, I positioned them at the water’s edge. That’s when I had Lorene turn her back to Tori and Tori and dropped to one knee.

Lorene was stunned—in the best possible way. Her eyes filled with tears, laughter bubbled up and she immediately said “yes!” as beach waves clapped behind them like a round of applause from nature itself.

But then—another twist.

The Second Proposal

Before Tori could even stand up, Lorene reached into her top and pulled out her ring. Yes, she had been planning to propose to Tori, too—completely unaware that Tori had the same idea. The look on Tori’s face was priceless: total shock, joy, and tears. It was pure magic watching them propose to each other, back to back, heart to heart.

Two rings. Two proposals. One deeply beautiful “yes” to forever—from both of them.

Love That Reflects Us All

This session was a joyful reminder that love doesn’t follow one path—it follows the right one for each couple. Tori and Lorene’s double proposal was emotional, affirming, and deeply genuine. Being able to witness and photograph their story was an honor.
