Photographing a Coastal Boho Beach House in Cherry Grove, North Myrtle Beach

I recently photographed this beautifully renovated beach house in the Cherry Grove area of North Myrtle Beach, and it’s a perfect example of how intentional vacation rental photography can elevate a property’s online presence.

The new owners completely updated the home with layered coastal boho design, thoughtful amenities, and inviting outdoor spaces. My goal during this shoot was to capture not just the layout — but the experience of staying there.

Capturing the Coastal Boho Design

From the moment I walked in, the light neutral palette and natural textures set the tone. Homes like this require a clean, balanced approach to composition so the decor speaks for itself.

In the main living space, I focused on:

  • Straight architectural lines

  • Even natural light

  • Showing depth from entry to seating area

  • details

The navy sectional anchors the room, while the woven chandelier and warm wood tones soften the space. My intention was to photograph the room in a way that feels open, calm, and cohesive — not crowded or overly styled.

Photographing Function, Not Just Furniture

One of the biggest differences in professional vacation rental photography is showing how a space works — not just what it looks like.

In the kitchen and dining area, I composed images to demonstrate:

  • Seating capacity

  • Flow between spaces

  • Counter space and storage

  • Open-concept layout

Travelers make booking decisions based on usability. My job is to visually answer their questions before they ask them.

Showcasing a Fully Stocked, Guest-Ready Kitchen Through Intentional Detail Photography

In these kitchen images, I focused on showcasing both design and functionality through clean composition and intentional detail shots. The wide angles highlight the bright white cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and the warmth of the woven bar stools, while maintaining straight vertical lines and balanced exposure for a polished, professional look.

I also captured close-up images of the fully stocked elements — the organized flatware drawer, quality cookware, coffee station, and thoughtfully arranged cabinets — because in vacation rental photography, details communicate value. By combining full-room perspectives with tighter lifestyle-driven frames, these images tell potential guests (and booking platforms) that this Cherry Grove kitchen isn’t just beautiful — it’s prepared, practical, and ready for real use.

Each bedroom had its own personality through wallpaper accents and layered bedding. I framed each room to highlight:

  • Texture and pattern without distortion

  • Floor space for scale

  • Natural window light

  • Clean styling details

The bunk room especially needed symmetry and careful lens choice to keep lines straight while showcasing functionality.

I photographed the bathrooms to highlight their clean, bright design and upscale finishes, including the marble walk-in shower and granite countertops. By keeping vertical lines straight and colors true to life, the images feel polished and inviting. Small detail shots of towels and bath amenities help communicate a guest-ready, well-maintained space.

Recreation & Extras

Ping pong, bicycles, baby amenities, and even the optional golf cart were framed to show value without clutter. These details matter — but they need to be visually organized so the image still feels refined.

Highlighting High-Value Amenities

This Cherry Grove beach house is loaded with features that increase booking appeal — so those needed intentional coverage.

Private Pool

When photographing the pool area, I prioritized:

  • Clean horizon lines

  • Clear water tone

  • Showing the full enclosure for privacy

  • Balanced sky color without over-editing

Firepit Lounge Area

Under-home spaces can often photograph dark or flat. For this area, I adjusted exposure carefully to keep:

  • Detail in the flame

  • Texture in the seating

  • Depth in the background

The goal was to create warmth and atmosphere without making the image feel artificially lit.

Photographing the nearest beach access is essential in a vacation rental listing, especially in areas like Cherry Grove and North Myrtle Beach where proximity to the ocean influences booking decisions. Clear images of the access point help potential guests visualize how easy it is to get from the house to the sand. Including this detail builds trust, answers location-based questions upfront, and reinforces the property’s convenience and overall value.

Why Professional Photography Matters in Cherry Grove

Cherry Grove and North Myrtle Beach are highly competitive vacation rental markets. Strong imagery is what separates a listing that scrolls by from one that stops attention.

For this property, I focused on:

  • Accurate color representation

  • Vertical correction for clean lines

  • Consistent brightness throughout the gallery

  • Balanced composition in every room

  • Showcasing both design and function

Professional short-term rental photography isn’t about taking wide shots of every corner. It’s about strategic framing that increases perceived value and helps potential guests emotionally connect with the space.

North Myrtle Beach Vacation Rental Photography

As a Myrtle Beach and Cherry Grove vacation rental photographer, I approach each property with a marketing mindset. Every image should:

  • Tell a visual story

  • Highlight upgrades and amenities

  • Feel welcoming but polished

  • Represent the property honestly and beautifully

This beach house is a perfect example of how thoughtful updates combined with professional photography can create a strong, cohesive visual presence online.

If you own a vacation rental in Cherry Grove or the North Myrtle Beach area and want images that capture every detail with intention, I’d love to help you showcase it at its best.
