One of the most rewarding parts of being a photographer in Myrtle Beach is getting to connect with families from all walks of life and helping them create memories that last forever. Recently, I had the honor of photographing Shereese and her family who were all together on vacation in celebration of her parents' 40th Wedding Anniversary.
When Shereese reached out to book their session, she mentioned something that stuck with me. She said she chose me because I was one of the only local photographers she found who had Black families represented in their portfolio. That moment was powerful. Representation matters—and I’m humbled to know that the way I share my work helped her feel seen, welcome, and excited to book.
We met up at the resort where they were staying at- on one of Myrtle Beach’s quieter stretches of sand. Their original scheduled session was supposed to take place the evening before but it rained us out so we opted for 8 AM the next day.
To Shereese and her family: thank you for trusting me, for showing up with open hearts, and for reminding me why this work matters. I’m grateful to have been a small part of your Myrtle Beach memories.
If you're planning a family getaway to the coast and looking for a photographer who values diversity, authenticity, and connection—I'd be honored to tell your story.
